Getting the perfect care for your loved one is clearly on your mind. Understanding what home care, assisted living, skilled care, or senior community are, will help you make the right decision.
The Turning Point Story
Some time ago, my friend Helen passed away at the age of 87. Helen was an interesting character. She never married, lived in the same home she was born in, and described herself as “parsimonious” - a pretty word which means “cheap”.
Through my friendship with Helen and aiding her at the end of her life, this service was born. As her friend not a family member, I was able to listen to Helen and objectively make decisions for her when she no longer was able. As her physical battles became more aggressive the option of living in her home was no longer viable. Suddenly the world of Senior Care became a major part of both of our lives. This is a service offered to seniors, their family and friends who find themselves at a turning point.
